LAST TIME OUT
The Revolutionaries are back in the water for the first time since Sept. 28, when they took down (RV) Wagner before being defeated by No. 9 (T) Fordham in New York City.Â
ABOUT THE OPPONENTS
#20 (T) Bucknell comes in with an almost identical record to GW at 6-6 and 3-1 in the MAWPC. The Bison have conference wins over Mount St. Mary's (18-13), Wagner (13-12) and Mercyhurst (20-5), while their lone conference loss came to Fordham (20-9). Attacker Aleksa Stefanovic has returned for his junior season at Bucknell after leading the Bison with 60 goals in 2023, while goalkeeper David Dumitru has returned after leading Bucknell with 204 saves in his freshman season. GW and Bucknell met twice in the regular season last year, both games resulting in Bison wins by a two-goal margin.
GW and Mercyhurst meet for the second time this season after GW handled the Lakers 17-8 in the season-opening match. Since then, the Lakers have compiled a 4-10 overall record (0-6 in the MAWPC), and they have been outscored 64-21 in their last three conference matches. The Revolutionaries will look to repeat the success they had earlier this season, a game in which everyone on the roster contributed, including three goals for Yam Kabakov, Adonis Vlassis, Kai De Orbeta and Andrija Sekulic, and three assists for Antonio Florena.
Mount St. Mary's comes into the weekend at 2-16 with its lone wins over McKendree and Mercyhurst. Utility Alexandros Bellesis and Aaron Tarr have returned for the Mount this season after leading the team last season in goals (68) and assists (50), respectively, and fifth-year goalkeeper Joseph Maxson leads Mount St. Mary's in net after recording 130 saves a season ago. GW defeated Mount St. Mary's three times last season - both home (13-11) and away (15-14, OT) in the regular season and at a neutral site in the MAWPC Championship (16-12).
