Water Polo Signs Horvath, Kapragkos Ahead of 2026

Head Coach Barry King and GW water polo announced two additions to the roster ahead of the 2026 season: first-year goalkeeper Solt Horvath and junior utility Konstantinos Kapragkos, who comes to GW after two seasons at Long Beach State.
Horvath and Kapragkos join a group of 15 returning student-athletes from GW's 2025 MAWPC runner-up team.

KING ON HORVATH: "Solt has a combination of physical attributes and experience that is rare for someone his age. He has great length and some of the best lateral movement I have seen in a goalkeeper. His passing skills will be very important as we develop our counterattack. We have been fortunate to have top notch goalkeepers for as long as I have been here. At the end of his career, Solt will be in the conversation as one of the best to ever play here."

Bio: Played freshman and sophomore seasons at Long Beach State…2025: Appeared in all 26 games as a sophomore...Scored 15 goals...Added 19 assists and eight steals to go along with seven field blocks...Recorded a season high of four assists against LMU on November 13…2024: Named to the Big West All-Freshman team in his first season...Scored 25 goals and added 20 assists in the year…Recorded a hat trick in the conference final against UC San Diego in a 10-8 win…2020-21: 3rd place in European Championship…2021-22: 2nd place in World's Championship…2022-23: 1st place in European Championship.
KING ON KAPRAGKOS: "Kostas is a very versatile player that brings the highest level of experience to a group that is eager to take the next step competitively. His ability to make everyone around him better is what is most attractive about his play. He has been coached by and played with a few of the best in the sport. He will provide the stability in the lineup that Adonis Vlassis gave us the last two years."
