WASHINGTON – The Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) released its Division I All-America honors on Friday, naming GW senior utility Adonis Vlassis on its Honorable Mention Team. Vlassis becomes the seventh student-athlete in program history to earn this distinction.
Vlassis was a sensational goal-scorer in 2025, with 112 goals and an average of 3.5 goals per game. His .511 shot percentage helped him to be the only Revolutionary to score in every game.
Vlassis' 112 goals were the third-most scored in a single season by anyone in program history, and with 53 assists, he finished the year at 165 points. That's the second-best point production by anyone in program history, behind only GW Hall of Famer Glauco Souza during his 185-point junior season (1992).
The Saint Francis College (Brooklyn) transfer, in his second year at GW, was also impactful defensively, pacing the team in steals (55) and finishing third in exclusions drawn (62).
Vlassis was named to the MAWPC All-Conference First Team and to the MAWPC All-Tournament First Team after leading the Revolutionaries' postseason charge with 16 points, helping to bring the Buff & Blue to a conference championship final for the first time since 2019.
The Athens, Greece native finished his GW career with 266 points – shy of the program's top 10, but on a pace that would have broken the program record over four seasons.
