Women's Tennis Begins Spring Season at Maryland

First serve scheduled for 2:30 p.m. in College Park
WASHINGTON – GW women's tennis will begin its championship season on Saturday at Maryland for a 2:30 p.m. start in College Park, Md.
Head Coach George Rodriguez leads a team that reached the Atlantic 10 championship last season in Orlando, Fla. First Team Atlantic 10 selections Stella Wiesemann and Gabriela Giraldo return to the court after a successful singles and doubles season with the Buff & Blue in 2023. Giraldo led GW in singles play with a 14-4 record in the second spot. The Bogota, Colombia native finished 6-2 overall in A-10 singles matches.
Wiesemann earned the second First Team honor of her career after posting a 13-5 singles record at the No. 1 flight throughout the season. Wiesemann closed her junior campaign having won nine-straight singles matches and went 8-0 against conference opponents. With her partner, Giraldo, the pair went 12-6 in doubles play overall and 5-2 in A-10 matchups, all at the No. 1 spot.
In addition, returners to the team include Charlotte Bell, Lindsay Thompson and Alejandra Ramirez. The GW Revs also have five first-years in Isabella Giraldo, Rena Ishiguchi, Madison Lee, Victoria Sasinka and Solange Skeene.

Maryland will play Georgetown at home on Saturday morning in its season opener before welcoming GW to its East Campus Tennis Courts that afternoon.
