Michael Kohn Signs Pro Contract with Idaho Falls Chukars

WASHINGTON -Â GW baseball graduate Michael Kohn has signed his first professional contract with the Idaho Falls Chukars of the Pioneer Baseball League, the team announced on Friday.
Kohn will join the team in the MLB Partner League following his First Team All-Conference campaign for the Buff & Blue. Earning the nod at DH, Kohn started all 55 games for GW, hitting .333 with 17 doubles, 11 home runs, 45 RBI and 50 runs scored. The 17 doubles were second on the team and sixth-best in the A-10.
Kohn led GW in runs scored and home runs in addition to pacing the squad in slugging percentage (.586) and ranking second in total bases (116).
His signing gives GW seven former student-athletes competing at the professional level. Cade Fergus (Philadelphia Phillies), Harrison Cohen (New York Yankees) and Will Kobos (Pittsburgh Pirates) are competing in MiLB organizations. Steve Barmakian and Trevor Kuncl are currently active in the Frontier League while Keagan McGinnis is also in the Pioneer League with the Billings Mustangs.
