Kahler Named A-10 Pitcher of the Week

Colonial hurler earns second weekly award of the season for Buff & Blue
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - GW junior pitcher Christopher Kahler was named the A-10 Pitcher of the Week, the league announced on Monday. Kahler joins teammate Michael Kohn (March 1) as recipients of weekly awards this season.
Kahler locked up Fordham in Sunday's decisive rubber match, authoring his second complete game of the season in GW's 9-2 triumph. The Coral Springs, Fla., native needed 127 pitches to accomplish the feat, limiting the Rams to two runs on five hits while striking out a career-high 10. Kahler retired 11 in a row early in the contest and then faced the minimum over the final three innings to finish off the feat.
The win was Kahler's second of the season in nine starts as he lowered his team-best ERA to 3.59. He has struck out 52 batters against just 19 walks in 57.2 innings while holding opponents to a .228 average against.
