The Buff & Blue and Billikens will meet Saturday night at 8 p.m.
WASHINGTON – George Washington women's basketball will look to return to its winning ways on Saturday when it travels to Saint Louis to take on the Billikens. Tip-off between the two sides is scheduled for 8 p.m. from Chaifetz Arena and coverage will be available live on ESPN+.
RELENTLESS NYA ROBERTSON
Following an 11-point performance against Rhode Island, Nya Robertson is continuing her climb up the Atlantic 10 scoring leaderboard. The first-year from Fort Worth is currently averaging 13.6 points, which is 13th best in the conference and first among Atlantic 10 rookies.
Entering Saturday, Robertson has scored in double figures in six-straight games and nine of her last 10 overall. During the six-game stretch, Robertson is averaging 17 points a night.
FINDING THE 3-BALL AGAIN
George Washington will enter Saturday's game with 205 made 3-pointers, tied for the most made threes in program history. However, last time out against Rhode Island, the Colonials' potent downtown attack was held in check. The team made just two triples and shot 11 percent from long range, both season lows.
So far this season, the team has shown an ability to bounce back after poor downtown shooting nights. Entering Saturday, GW is 8-2 in games following a sub-.300 shooting percentage from downtown and the team is averaging 8.7 triples in those games.
SCOUTING SAINT LOUIS
The Billikens enter Saturday night's contest at 10-16 overall and 6-5 in Atlantic 10 play, but they are riding a four-game winning streak. During the streak, SLU has beaten Fordham, George Mason, St. Bonaventure and Dayton, and is averaging 76 points a game. The most notable game during the streak came against Mason, as senior Brooke Flowers scored 10 points and registered 18 rebounds and 11 blocks for the first triple-double in Billikens history.
Speaking of Flowers, she will enter Saturday as one of three players on Saint Louis averaging double-digit points. Kayla McMakin leads the team in points per game (17.4), followed by Flowers (11.3), and then Julia Martinez (10.1).
HISTORY AGAINST THE BILLIKENS
Saturday will be the 19th all-time meeting between George Washington and Saint Louis. GDUB owns a 12-6 record against SLU in the previous 18 meetings. Last year, the Colonials crushed the Billikens at the Smith Center, 63-41, in the two teams' only meeting.
