Levin Named A-10 Player of the Week

Junior second baseman led Colonials to 4-1 week
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -Â GW baseball second baseman Noah Levin was named the A-10 Player of the Week on Monday following a standout opening week of the 2020 season.
Levin slashed .471/.571/.706 in the first five games of the season, going 8-for-17 with a double, home run, four runs scored, and five RBI while starting every game at second base. He reached safely in all five games, hitting safely in four of them, including three multi-hit games.
The Tarzana, Calif., native picked up a pair of hits in the season opener at #8 UVA before coming back on Saturday by scoring two runs, driving in one and reaching base three times in a doubleheader sweep of Lehigh.
He then saved his best for Sunday, going a combined 5-for-8 in another doubleheader sweep. After going 2-for-2 with two walks in the opener, Levin was 3-for-6 with four RBI in the finale, tying the game with a two-out, two-run homer in the eighth and providing extra cushion with a two-out, two-run single in the ninth.
The 2019 A-10 Rookie of the Year was honored prior to the season by Perfect Game on their preseason All-Conference team. Levin and the Colonials return to Tucker Field at Barcroft Park on Wednesday, hosting Coppin State at 2:30 p.m. on ESPN+.Â
