NEW OFFENSIVE OPTION UN-LOK'D:
After her scorching-hot, 26-point performance against Virginia last Sunday, Nya Lok is quickly proving herself as a go-to option for GW's offense. Since returning to the lineup on Nov. 26, Lok is averaging a team-high 11.3 points per game, while shooting 48 percent from the field and 44 percent from 3. Additionally, Lok's combined 41 points vs. JMU and Virginia were the most scored in back-to-back games by a Colonial this season.
Lok's offensive success against JMU and Virginia last week earned her recognition from the Atlantic 10 Conference, as she was named to the weekly honor roll.
A LOOK AT THE HOYAS:
Coming into this season, Georgetown was picked ninth in the Big East's preseason poll with the squad bringing back 2019-20 Big East blocks leader Anita Kelava, as well as last year's All-Big East Freshman Team member Kelsey Ransom, who led the Hoyas in scoring during her rookie season.
Entering Thursday night's matchup, the Hoyas sit at 4-4 but are coming off a 55-47 win against Providence in their last contest. As was the case last year, Ransom leads the Hoyas' offense with 12.8 points per game, and checking in right behind her is Milan Bolden-Morris, who contributes an average of 11.8 points nightly.
UP NEXT:
George Washington will return to the Smith Center and welcome another D.C. rival, the Howard Bison, for a Sunday matinee. Tip-off against HU will be at 2 p.m., with live coverage on ESPN+.
