Women's Basketball Tangles With Davidson Saturday

Colonials wrap up two-game road trip at 1 p.m.
WASHINGTON - GW women's basketball returns to action after its mid-week bye with a matchup against Davidson on Saturday at 1 p.m.
TOP TIER: The Wildcats are one of four unbeatens left in A-10 play, starting 4-0 against league foes for the second straight season. GW's next three opponents represent three of the four remaining undefeated squads in league play and are a combined 12-0 in A-10 play this year.
TAIWO TIME: Redshirt freshman Mayowa Taiwo had a career week against Duquesne and Fordham, averaging a double-double with 12.5 ppg and 10.0 rpg while playing 33.0 mpg. Taiwo dropped a career-best 18 points in the win against the Dukes before following it up with a team season-high 14 boards at Fordham.
Since moving into the starting lineup for good on Dec. 4 at Delaware, Taiwo has averaged 6.2 ppg and 7.0 rpg with a pair of double-digit scoring and rebounding efforts. In her first taste of conference play, she ranks second in the league in offensive rebounds (4.7/game) and seventh in total boards (8.7/game).
EXPERIENCE PAYS OFF: Graduate student Alexandra Maund posted double figures for the seventh time this season against Fordham, reaching the mark for the fourth straight game (12.0 ppg in that stretch). Maund has elevated her game in league play, leading the team with 12.7 ppg while shooting 56.7% from the field, marks that rank 18th and ninth, respectively, against A-10 foes.
Overall, she is currently averaging career highs in points (10.1), rebounds (4.5) and minutes per game (21.9) while ranking second on the team with her 50.5% field goal percentage.
MAKING HER MOVE: Sophomore Kayla Mokwuah poured in 10 points off the bench against Fordham, reaching double figures for the fourth time in seven games (10.0 ppg). Her seven double-digit efforts match her total from a year ago.
Mokwuah has shown a great progression in her second year at the college level, increasing her scoring production by 29% (6.5 to 8.4) and rebounding by 32% (3.7 to 4.9). Her 58.3% field goal percentage in conference play is t-6th in the league.
A LOOK AT THE WILDCATS: Davidson features the league's No. 3 offense at 70.2 ppg and has scored more than 70 in each of its last three contests. Freshman Suzi-Rose Deegan is the team's top threat, averaging 16.0 ppg and 7.6 rpg to lead all A-10 first-years. Deegan had scored in double figures in nine straight games before being held to nine points on Wednesday at George Mason.
Sarah Donovan, currently out with an injury, is second on the team at 11.4 ppg and leads the squad with 8.6 rpg. Katie Turner gives the 'Cats three double-digit scorers at 10.5 ppg.
