Colonials advance to A-10 quarterfinals Friday vs. No. 4 seed Dayton

ORLANDO, Fla. - GW men's tennis made quick work of its opening-round opponent St. Bonaventure on Thursday morning, besting the No. 12 seed Bonnies, 4-0, at the USTA National Campus.

The No. 5 seed Colonials seized early control with the doubles point, winning 6-1 at both No. 2 with Jakub Behun and Lawrence Sciglitano and at No. 3 with Hanyu Liu and Ryan Navarro.

Two of the Colonials' first-year phenoms then took over in singles play with Zicheng Zeng winning his match at No. 1, 6-3, 6-0 and Ben Barnett winning at No. 3, 6-3, 6-2. Sciglitano then finished off the match by fending off his counterpart in a 7-5, 7-5 triumph at No. 5.

GW will now take on No. 4 Dayton on Friday morning in the quarterfinals beginning at 9 a.m. The Flyers edged the Colonials in the regular season matchup, 4-1.
