Colonials finish regular season 5-3 in league play
PHILADELPHIA -Â GW men's tennis finished the regular season in style with a 4-0 sweep over Saint Joseph's at SJU Tennis Complex to finish the A-10 regular season with a 5-3 record.
The Colonials quickly earned the doubles point with 6-1 wins at both the #2 (Jakub Behun and Lawrence Sciglitano) and #3 (Ryan Navarro and Hanyu Liu) positions.Â
The momentum carried over to singles where GW made quick work with victories at #3, #4 and #5. Ben Barnett started the run with a 6-2, 6-1 win at #3 before Sciglitano finished off a 6-1, 6-3 victory at #5. Behun clinched the match at #4, winning in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4.
The Colonials now await their seeding for the Atlantic 10 Championship, which begins on Thursday at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla.
