Zeng Named A-10 Rookie of the Week

First-year earns honor in first career dual meet
WASHINGTON -Â GW men's tennis first-year Zicheng Zeng was named the A-10 Rookie of the Week, following his performance in the Colonials' spring season opener against La Salle on Sunday.
Playing in his first career dual meet, Zeng was a part of GW's top doubles pair and played #1 singles, winning both. Paired with fellow first-year Ben Barnett, Zeng won his doubles match 6-4 before trouncing La Salle's Connor Merrill in straight sets (6-2, 6-4) to earn a point.
Zeng becomes the first Colonial to earn a weekly award since Julius Tverijonas was named Player of the Week in April 2017.
