Colonials and Billikens to face off on CBSSN at 2 p.m.
WASHINGTON - GW women's basketball begins the second half of conference play with a visit to Saint Louis on Sunday. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. Eastern with the game nationally-televised on CBS Sports Network. The Colonials are 11-4 all-time against the Billikens, snapping a two-game skid in the series with a 71-58 win last February. GW is 4-2 all-time in St. Louis.
LAST TIME OUT: GW is coming off a 62-42 loss to Davidson on Thursday, snapping a two-game winning streak. The Wildcats shot 48.1%, the highest for a GW opponent this year, and hit eight 3s, the most hit by an opponent since Fordham hit 10 on Jan. 5. First-year Maddie Loder continued her strong play with 14 points, one shy of her career high.
ROAD WARRIORS: The Buff & Blue are 3-0 away from home in conference play, defeating Rhode Island, La Salle and Duquesne. Dating back to last season, GW has won seven straight road A-10 games. Under head coach Jennifer Rizzotti, the Colonials are 15-4 in A-10 road games, going 6-2 in each of the last two seasons. Four of GW's next five games, and five of the final eight, are away from the Smith Center.
LOW-DOWN ON LODER: First-year Maddie Loder was inserted into the starting lineup for the first time vs. Memphis (Jan. 1) and has seen her game transform ever since, culminating in averaging 10.8 ppg over her last five contests with three double-digit outputs against George Mason (Jan. 19), VCU (Jan. 23) and Davidson (Jan. 31).Since becoming a starter, Loder has increased her output in minutes per game (34.0/18.8, +15.2), points per game (7.6/4.4, +3.2), rebounds per game (4.6/1.6, +3.0), assists per game (2.3/0.7, +1.6) and steals per game (1.2/0.5, +0.7). She's also seen her assist-to-turnover ratio change from 0.5 in the first 12 games to 1.0 in the past nine.
MEI-10 PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Senior Mei-Lyn Bautista's stat-stuffing ability has garnered her a reputation as one of the top all-around players in the league. After finishing 14th in the nation last year in assist-to-turnover ratio, Bautista is the only player in the Atlantic 10 this season averaging at least 10.0 ppg, 4.0 apg, and 2.0 spg. Against league foes, she currently tops the circuit in steals per game (2.8), is third in assists per game (4.9) and fourth in 3-pointers per game (2.4). She has posted at least two steals and three assists in seven straight games.
A LOOK AT THE BILLIKENS: Saint Louis comes in with a 4-4 conference mark following a 60-53 win over George Mason on Thursday. The Billikens have won three of their last four contests, including at triple-overtime victory over Dayton, since starting league play 1-3. SLU is one of the youngest teams in the league, starting three freshmen who have earned 10 of the league's 12 A-10 Rookie of the Week awards. Ciaja Harbison paces the squad with 15.0 ppg overall, fourth in the league. In conference play, freshman Brooke Flowers is the lone player in the league to average a double-double with 11.0 ppg and 11.8 rpg. Senior Jordyn Frantz also averages double digits with 13.5 ppg, shooting 35.3% from beyond the arc
