TOWSON, Md. -- The GW baseball team was victorious in its non-conference road finale as it took a 9-3 win over the Towson Tigers on Tuesday afternoon at Schuerholz Park.

GW cranked out double-digit hits for the fourth straight game and 23rd time this season with seven different Colonials contributing to the cause to improve to seven games over .500, matching the high-water mark of the season.

The A-10's top hitting team had five players finish with multi-hit afternoons, led by Isaiah Pasteur and Robbie Metz's three-knock days. Pasteur extended his hitting streak to 31 games while scoring three times, and Metz drove in three runs including a two-RBI double to open the scoring in the fourth inning.

On the hill, lefty Kevin Hodgson logged five innings of work, surrendering just three runs (two earned) in his final frame. The senior struck out three and walked three while improving to 2-0 on the year. GW's bullpen closed the door with four scoreless innings of relief, as Andrew Wheeler and Pat Knight each pitched two innings to secure the win.

GW got out to a 5-0 lead and never trailed, as Metz delivered his two-run double in the fourth and Nate Fassnacht followed with an RBI single. It was Metz who again doubled an inning later to make it 4-0, and Mark Osis sent a sacrifice fly later in the inning to extend the lead.

After Towson struck for three runs in the bottom of the fifth, Wheeler and Knight shut the door on the Tigers offense. The Colonials tacked on an insurance run in the seventh, and then three in the eighth, to put the game out of reach.

GW now returns home on Wednesday for its non-conference finale vs. Coppin State at 6 p.m., the start of a seven-game homestand at Tucker Field at Barcroft Park. Prior to the game, head coach Gregg Ritchie will be presented with his championship ring from last September's USA Baseball U18 World Cup Title. Fans are encouraged to be in their seats by 5:45 p.m. for the ceremony.
