BALTIMORE - The George Washington baseball team fell for just the second time in the last 14 games in a 7-5 loss at UMBC on Wednesday afternoon at Alumni Field.

Key Stats

GW saw its six-game win streak come to an end in the loss. Despite the setback, GW is still 12-2 in it's last 14 games played dating back to March 17.
Senior Isaiah Pasteur extended his hit streak to 20 games, which stands as the second-longest stretch in program history behind only Joey Bartosic (24 games). He finished 2-for-4 at the plate with a triple, one run and a stolen base.
Senior Robbie Metz and junior Dominic D'Alessandro both hit home runs in the game.
Metz (2-for-4, 2B, RBI) and senior Brandon Chapman (2-for-3, 1 R) joined Pasteur with multiple-hit efforts.
Five of UMBC's seven runs came across in the fifth inning or later.

Scoring
Top 1: Pasteur led off the game with a triple to left field and then scored on a sacrifice fly by sophomore Steven Barmakian (GW 1, UMBC 0).
Bottom 2: The Retrievers tied the score when a leadoff double eventually scored on a RBI groundout (GW 1, UMBC 1).
Bottom 3: UMBC loaded the bases to open the inning and scored on a sacrifice fly (UMBC 2, GW 1).
Top 4: Metz led off the fourth by lifting a 1-0 pitch over the wall in left field for his fourth home run of the season. After Metz's homer, senior Mark Osis singled and moved to third on a sacrifice before scoring on a sacrifice fly by senior Matt Cosentino. D'Alessandro capped the inning with a solo home run, his third of the season (GW 4, UMBC 2).
Top 5: Chapman led off the inning with an infield single and then scored on a RBI double by Metz (GW 5, UMBC 2).
Bottom 5: The Retrievers tied the score with three runs on three hits, including a pair that went for extra bases, and an error (GW 5, UMBC 5).
Bottom 6: UMBC got a leadoff single that moved up a base on a sacrifice bunt. Consecutive base hits followed, with the second scoring the leadoff baserunner (UMBC 6, GW 5).
Bottom 7: UMBC added an insurance run in the seventh on a bases-loaded walk (UMBC 7, GW 5).
