DeLAND, Fla. - The George Washington baseball team picked up its first win of the season in a 9-0 rout of Stetson on Saturday night at Melching Field.

- Sophomore Nate Fassnacht drove in a career-high five RBIs by finishing 2-for-4 at the plate with a double. It is the second five-RBI game of his career.
- Sophomore Elliott Raimo turned in a gem on the mound. He allowed just two hits over eight shutout innings with no walks and a pair of strikeouts.
- Raimo induced 11 groundouts and nine flyouts in the game while also rolling up one double play.
- Senior Mark Osis continued his torrid start to the season by going 3-for-5 at the plate with a pair of RBIs. For the season he is batting .455 (10-for-22).
- Senior Robbie Metz also turned in a three-hit night, going 3-for-5 with one RBI.
- Senior Isaiah Pasteur also contributed a pair of hits, along with a RBI and walk.
- Junior Pat Knight worked a 1-2-3 bottom half of the ninth to clinch the win.
Scoring - Top 1: GW loaded the bases on a leadoff single by Pasteur, a single by Osis and a hit batter. Fassnacht followed with a sacrifice fly to open the scoring. (GW 1, Stetson 0).
- Top 3: Sophomore Steven Barmakian led off with an infield single and stole second before moving to third on a groundout. Fassnacht then drove him home on a RBI single to center field (GW 2, Stetson 0).
- Top 4: Three consecutive two-out walks by freshman Colin Brophy, Pasteur and Barmakian preceded a two-run single by Osis. (GW 4, Stetson 0).
- Top 4: Junior Dominic D'Alessandro walked to load the bases for Fassnacht, who followed by lining a bases-clearing double to deep center field. (GW 7, Stetson 0).
- Top 4: Fassnacht moved up to third base on a wild pitch and then scored on an infield RBI single by Metz (GW 8, Stetson 0).
- Top 7: Metz led off the seventh with a single and moved to second when senior Matt Cosentino was hit by a pitch. They both moved up a base on a wild pitch and Pasteur cashed in with a RBI single through the left side of the infield. (GW 9, Stetson 0).
Up Next - GW aims for the series win in Sunday's rubber match at 1 p.m. Junior Nathan Woods will make the start for the Colonials.
