Behun secures pair of wins in singles play

BLACKSBURG, Va. - GW men's tennis completed its run at the ITA Atlantic Regional over the weekend with junior Jakub Behun leading the way, advancing to the round of 32.

Behun defeated Alejandro Rodriguez-Vidal of Duquesne in the opening round before upsetting Sebastian Quiros, a ranked foe from William & Mary, in round two. Behun eventually fell to Nicaise Muamba of Liberty.

First-years Ben Barnett and Zicheng Zeng collected one win each in the main draw before bowing out. First-year Will Peden won his first match in the qualifying draw while classmates Lawrence Sciglitano and Ryan Navarro each claimed a victory in the consolation singles play.

In doubles play, all four pairs dropped their opening matches.

GW is off from competition for the next two weeks before returning to action in its final fall tournament at the Navy Gold Invitational from Nov. 9-11.
