Colonials look to build off strong weekend at Navy

WASHINGTON - GW men's tennis is back in action for the second straight weekend, traveling to Blacksburg, Va. to take part in the ITA Atlantic Regional Championship. The qualifying draw begins Thursday with the main draw starting Friday and lasting through Monday.
LAST TIME OUT: GW had three first-years claim flight titles at the Navy Blue Invite, headlined by Zicheng Zeng winning the "A" flight title. The first-year has advanced to the final of his flight in his first two competitions. Additionally, Lawrence Sciglitano and Will Peden were crowned champions of the "E" and "G" flights.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT: The regional competition will feature five days of competition beginning on Thursday with the first and second round of qualifying singles. The full schedule is as follows:Â
SINGLING THEM OUT: GW will place four first-years in the main draw with Ben Barnett, Hanyu Liu, Ryan Navarro, and Ziching Zeng joined by junior captain Jakub Behun. Dennis Afanasev, Michael Barsky, Will Peden, and Lawrence Sciglitano will compete in the qualifying draw to earn a spot in the main draw.
DOUBLING UP: The Colonials will sport four duos in the main draw: Sciglitano and Behun, Zeng and Barnett, Navarro and Liu, and Afanasev and Peden.

- Monday: Singles Finals / Doubles Finals
