WASHINGTON - The George Washington men's tennis team wraps the 2017 regular season with a pair of matches, with a battle at local foe Georgetown on Thursday before a Senior Day match against Fordham on Saturday at the GW Tennis Center on the Mount Vernon Campus.
The Colonials (14-6) have won five of their last six matches heading into the final week of regular-season play and return to action after a nearly two-week hiatus, last playing on April 8.
Junior Chris Fletcher has proven to be a consistent competitor this spring, tallying a 14-4 mark while splitting time primarily at the Nos. 2-3 positions of the singles ladder. Senior Julius Tverijonas has played exclusively at the top spot, posting an 11-5 record this spring.
Georgetown (7-11) has won three of its last four, most recently falling to Emory last Thursday.
Fordham (11-6) takes a three-match win streak into the weekend, last downing Siena on Saturday.
Tverijonas and fellow senior Fernando Sala will be honored prior to first serve of Saturday's match.
