WASHINGTON - The George Washington men's tennis team returns to competition on Sunday at UNC-Wilmington for a 1 p.m. contest.
The Colonials (12-5) will compete for the first time since downing Florida Gulf Coast on the road on March 16 to close a successful week of spring break play. GW has won its last three matches, including an upset of then-No. 38 South Alabama, 4-3.
Junior Chris Fletcher leads the Colonials with a 13-2 dual match singles record this spring, playing primarily at the Nos. 2-3 positions. Senior Julius Tverijonas has served as GW's No. 1 singles competitor and recently downed the nation's No. 82-ranked player to clinch the Colonials' upset of South Alabama.
UNCW (9-4) hosts GW on Sunday after taking on VCU on Saturday. The Seahawks have won their last two matches entering the weekend, with wins over Charlotte and Morgan State at home.
