WASHINGTON - The George Washington men's tennis team is set for a busy weekend of competition, visiting Florida State on Saturday before returning to the Southeast Tennis and Learning Center on Sunday to host Monmouth during Homecoming Weekend.
The Colonials (4-2) handily downed visiting Morgan State last Thursday at home, 4-0. Junior Chris Fletcher is off to a strong start this season, leading GW in singles play with a 4-1 spring mark, including a victory over a ranked opponent.
Florida State (6-2) will be GW's biggest test so far on the young season after the Seminoles competed in the 2016 NCAA Tournament as the No. 22 seed. Florida State has two ranked singles players on the roster - No. 89 Guy Iradukunda and No. 90 Aziz Dougaz.
Monmouth (0-5) has struggled this spring, most recently falling at DePaul and Notre Dame last weekend.
