TEMPE, Ariz. - George Washington men's tennis senior Julius Tverijonas has broken into the ITA national singles rankings at No. 118 in the Feb. 21 rankings.
Tverijonas defeated the nation's No. 99 ranked singles player on Feb. 12 and owns an overall 16-8 record this year. Competing at the top of the ladder for GW, the senior holds a 4-4 dual match record.
"Julius is constantly working with maximum effort to improve his game," said first-year head coach David Macpherson. "He's incredibly clutch in both singles and doubles on the big points, which gives our team so much confidence and helps fuel our success."
While Tverijonas has been ranked as high as No. 34 in doubles, the Siauliai, Lithuania, native will compete with a national singles ranking for the first time in his career on Wednesday.
