Tverijonas Grabs Pre-Season Region Ranking

TEMPE, Ariz.- George Washington men's tennis senior Julius Tverijonas has earned an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Atlantic Region ranking to begin the 2017 season.
Tverijonas starts the spring as the region's No. 13-ranked solo player - his highest-ever region singles ranking.
The Siauliai, Lithuania, native posted a strong fall season, notching a 12-4 singles mark to lead the Colonials. The senior claimed a singles flight title at the Joe Hunt Invitational in September.
Tverijonas has helped GW to Atlantic 10 Championship crowns in each of his three spring seasons as a Colonial and received First Team All-Conference honors in 2016 with an overall 18-12 solo mark, including a strong 13-4 record in dual match play.
The Colonials begin the 2017 spring season on Jan. 21 for doubleheader action at Drake University against the host Bulldogs and Northern Illinois.
