GW Men's Tennis Set for ITA Atlantic Regionals

WASHINGTON - The George Washington men's tennis squad is set for the annual ITA Atlantic Region Championships hosted by Virginia Tech at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center.
Seniors Julius Tverijonas and Fernando Sala, juniors Chris Fletcher and Christos Hadjigeorgiou and freshman Dennis Afanasev will represent the Colonials in the five-day tournament.
Play will consist of singles and doubles action, with qualifying singles play beginning on Thursday. The Colonials will begin competition on Friday.
Tverijonas and Fletcher will compete as a doubles pair and Hadjigeorgiou and Sala will join forces as a tandem.
A year ago, Tverijonas advanced to the doubles semifinal round.
The ITA Atlantic Region includes schools located in Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia and Washington, D.C. GW and host Virginia Tech will be joined by representatives from Duquesne, George Mason, Georgetown, Hampton, Howard, James Madison, La Salle, Liberty, Longwood, Navy, Old Dominion, Penn State, Radford, Richmond, Saint Joseph's Temple, VCU, Villanova, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and William and Mary.
