GW Men's Tennis Travels to Davidson, Elon This Weekend

WASHINGTON - The George Washington men's tennis team is set to wrap up spring break play in a pair of matches over the weekend. On Saturday, the Colonials will join GW's women's tennis team at Atlantic 10 rival Davidson before taking on Elon on Sunday.
The Buff and Blue (5-8) defeated Florida A&M on Monday, 7-1, and will complete a stretch of five matches in 10 days with the weekend's competition.
Davidson (9-2) rides an eight-match win streak heading into Saturday, most recently defeating conference foe George Mason, 6-1, on March 7, to improve to 2-0 against A-10 opponents.
Elon (4-8) last split doubleheader action on March 7, defeating North Carolina Central before falling to Georgia Southern in the nightcap. The Phoenix host Longwood on Thursday and Winthrop on Friday before GW comes to town on Sunday.
Senior Francisco Dias brings a 6-5 singles record into the weekend, while junior Danil Zelenkov improved to a 6-6 solo mark on Monday. Freshman Chris Fletcher has played well of late, earning a victory in five of his last six matches at the No. 3 slot.
First serve on Saturday is slated for 1 p.m. at Davidson's Covington Tennis Courts, while Sunday's bout will begin at 2:30 p.m. at Elon's Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.
