TULSA, Okla. - George Washington men's tennis' junior Julius Tverijonas won a pair of matches on Sunday on Day 2 of the 2015 Saint Francis Health Systems ITA All-American Championships singles pre-qualifying round. Tverijonas will play on Monday for a slot in the qualifying round of the University of Tulsa-hosted tournament.
Tverijonas opened the day with a decisive, 6-0, 6-3, victory over Western Michigan's Daniel Loebel. The junior then went on to defeat Loyola Marymount's Charles Boyce, 7-5, 6-3. Tverijonas will face Jose Salazar of Arkansas on Monday for a spot in the qualifying draw.
Senior Danil Zelenkov played in the Round of 128 after a victory on Saturday and went the distance but fell to UCLA's Joe DiGiulio, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3, in his first match of the day to close his weekend of play.
Tverijonas and Zelenkov are slated to compete in the doubles qualifying round of the ITA All-American Championships on either Monday or Tuesday.
