ITA Atlantic Region Championships Tournament Central
BLACKSBURG, Va. - The George Washington men's tennis team finished play at the ITA Atlantic Region Championships on Monday at Virginia Tech's Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center.
In the doubles semifinals, senior Danil Zelenkov and junior Julius Tverijonas took on fifth-seeded Amerigo Contini and Edoardo Tessaro of Virginia Tech but fell, 6-4, 6-4, to close out play at the annual tournament.
Zelenkov and Tverijonas are the farthest-advancing Colonials in ITA Regional doubles play since 2012, when Zelenkov and Nikita Fomin reached the semifinal round.
The Colonials return to action on Friday at the Wolfpack Invitational in Raleigh, North Carolina, for the squad's final fall tournament.
