GW Men's Tennis Closes UVA Invitational

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The GW men's tennis team wrapped the three-day UVA Ranked +1 Invitational on Sunday afternoon at the Snyder Tennis Center.
Sophomore Julius Tverijonas highlighted the day with a 6-4, 7-6 win over Sebastian Yllera of ETSU to win the back draw of the Blue Singles bracket.
Also in Blue Singles, rookie Cahit Kapukiran defeated Jai Corbett of Virginia Tech, 7-5, 7-5, to take home 13th place. Junior Danil Zelenkov nearly blanked ETSU's Ricardo Pabon with a 6-0, 6-2 win, and senior Francisco Dias, who is ranked No. 91 in the nation, fell to No. 69 Maksim Kan from Wake Forest, 6-2, 6-3, both in the Orange Singles back draw.
GW returns to action on Friday, Sept. 26 through Sunday, Sept. 28 at the Navy All-Conference Invitational in Annapolis, Maryland.
