GW Falls To Saint Louis In Series Finale, 4-0

ST LOUIS, MO- The George Washington baseball team fell to Saint Louis, 4-0 on Sunday afternoon at the Billiken Sports Center. With wins on Friday and Saturday the Colonials clinched their second A-10 Conference series win of the season.
GW (14-33, 6-12 A-10) was led by red shirt senior Bobby Lucas on the mound. He pitched a strong game before allowing three runs in the eighth inning. He pitched seven and one-third innings, scattered five hits and struck out six batters. Lucas now ranks second in the Atlantic 10 with 73 strikeouts on the year.
In the seventh inning Saint Louis (26-21, 7-11 A-10) used a RBI single from Nick Becker and a two-run double from C.J. Rose to take a 2-0 lead. Billiken's starter Damian Rivera was dominant, allowing just two hits with 10 strikeouts in eight shut-out innings.
The Colonials did not get their first hit until the eighth inning, a Jimmy Best single through the right side with one out. Junior Brett Bowers followed with GW's second hit, but Rivera worked out of the jam with consecutive strikeouts.
GW will host Mary Eastern Shore on Tuesday afternoon at Barcroft Park. First pitch is scheduled for 4:00 pm.
