WASHINGTON, DC- The George Washington men's tennis team received its third top seed in as many years heading into the 2010 Atlantic 10 Men's Tennis Championships on April 16-18 at Club4Live in Monroeville, PA, the conference office announced Tuesday.
The Colonials have been preseason favorites each time they were awarded with the top seed at the A-10 Championships.
"I am proud of the hard work the team has put into this year," said head coach Greg Munoz. "I feel we are going into this tournament with the mindset that we must fight to win every match at every position and we are determined to accomplish this task."
Junior Chris Kushma enters the championship tournament on a six-match winning streak at No. 3 singles. The Colonials closed out the regular season on a three-match winning streak, defeating Howard, James Madison and Longwood.
GW's first match will be this Friday at 2:00 p.m., facing the winner of No. 8 seed Richmond and No. 9 seed Dayton. The Colonials beat Richmond on March 9, 5-2, and did not face Dayton this season.
