Doubles Pair Fall in Quarterfinals at ITA Regional

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - GW men's tennis' doubles pair fell in the quarterfinals against Virginia, Saturday at the ITA Atlantic Regional at UVA's Snyder Tennis Center.
Junior Ugur Atalay and senior Erik Hannah fell to third-seeded Sanam Singh and Steven Rooda, 8-6. After being up 4-1 0-30, the Colonials pair lost momentum when the Cavaliers miss-hit two balls to get back to 30-30 and GW couldn't close out the match.
Atalay and Hannah completed the fall tournament schedule with a 6-3 record as a doubles pair, picking up wins and experience at the D'Novo'/ITA All-American Championships early in October prior to the Regional tournament.
GW will open their spring 2011 schedule against Maryland, on Saturday, January 29, at 4:00 p.m. in College Park, MD.
