
Men's Tennis Continues on in A-10 Championship

MONROEVILLE, PA - Top seeded George Washington men's tennis defeated eighth seeded Saint Joseph's, 4-0, to move deeper in the 2009 Atlantic 10 Men's Tennis Championship. GW will face St. Bonaventure on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
The Colonials took the top two flights in doubles over Saint Joseph's and did not need to finish the third match. In the No. 1 pairs, Freshmen Ugur Atalay and Richard Blumenfeld defeated Phil Bayless and Mike Satuble, 8-6, while Chris Kushma and Yan Levinski won in the No. 2 pairs, 8-5, over Peter Cognetti and Jeff Kessler.
Atalay extended his winning streak to seven matches with his No. 2 flight win over SJU's Bayless 6-3, 6-2. Sophomore Erik Hannah also defeated his Saint Joseph's opponent, Stauble 6-0, 6-1 at the No. 3 while Ayra Vayghan defeated Cognetti 6-1, 6-0.
