
Dukes' Hand Colonials 10-0 Defeat

HARRISONBURG, VA - The George Washington University baseball team continued their heavy stretch of road games on Wednesday afternoon in Harrisonburg, VA, but were dealt a 10-0 defeat at Long Field. Justin Dignelli got his second start of the season, but only was able to last 2 2/3 innings while giving up six earned runs.
Redshirt junior Sean Rockey led the offense with two hits and Will Cooper also reached base twice with a hit and a hit by pitch.
The Colonials fell behind early by giving up six first inning runs to dig themselves a deep, early hole. While the Dukes only outhit the Colonials 9-6, they took advantage of 13 walks by Colonials pitching to push across their runs.
A bright spot for the Colonials was the relief work by Chris Davis and Jimmy Duggan. They three two innings total and didn't allow an earned run to finish off the contest.
George Washington will not return to Barcroft Park this weekend when they take on La Salle for three critical A-10 conference games. The Friday game is set for a 4:00 p.m start time and the two weekend contests will each begin at 1:00 p.m.
