NORFOLK, VA -
George Washington Men's Tennis faced off at the Sergio Tacchini Inivtational on Saturday, but were unable to come away with any titles. Yan Levinski continues to face nationally ranked opponents in the first round as he fell to VCU second-ranked player Emil Lindgren.
Levinski and Chris Kushma also fell in the A doubles draw, but put out some big serves in the 8-3 loss. Kushma also lost in the B singles final, but that was despite a strong showing by the team's most improved player. "The boys played a level higher than usual so I was proud of their efforts".
Richard Blumenfeld lost his C singles final, but Head Coach Greg Munoz had some high praise for Blumenfeld. "If Richard stays injury free," said Munoz. "...as he has been struggling with a stomach tear, he will do some damage at the #6 spot this year." George Washington continues its fall season at the ITA Region I Tournament, which runs from October 16 to October 22nd. It will be played in New Haven, CT.
