WASHINGTON, DC - George Washington men's tennis player Matt Treadgold (Glenmont, NY/Bethlehem Central) was named to the Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference team, as voted by the league's sports information directors. A first time Academic All-Conference selection, he is currently holding a 3.44 GPA in International Affairs.
Along with his academics, Treadgold is heavily involved in the Student Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) at GW, where he has been a representative since his freshman year. He also plays the cello and has been a member of the University Orchestra since 2001.
Treadgold also received his third selection to the A-10's All-Conference Team. He was selected last season after securing 12 singles victories and 17 doubles victories. The 6'2" junior improved on those numbers in 2004 going 19-3 primarily at number two singles and matching last season's mark with 17 doubles victories. Treadgold is now a spectacular 46-16 for his career in singles play.
