ST. BONAVENTURE, NY - GW Baseball cancelled their doubleheader against St. Bonaventure for the second time in two days due to inclement weather. The Colonials have now had to cancel six of their first nine Atlantic 10 games. Despite being 19-7 overall, GW remains at 1-2 in the Atlantic 10 three weeks into conference play.
Sunday's games at McGraw-Jennings Field were cancelled due to cold and snow. On Sunday morning, the head coaches of both teams agreed that field conditions would not improve enough to allow the games to be played. They also agreed that playing Monday, which is the conference's make-up day for weekend series, would not be possible either because of the forecast of continued freezing temperatures and overnight snow.
GW will play two games at home this week before Atlantic 10 play again gets underway next weekend at Xavier. The Colonials will host George Mason on Tuesday at 3:00 pm followed by a Wednesday game against Georgetown. Both games will be played at Barcroft Park where GW has a 7-1 record this year.
