FOR THE SENIORS
Prior to Wednesday's game, GW honored its 2025-26 senior class. Filipa Calisto, Emma Theodorsson, Caia Loving and Natalia Sierra-Vargas were celebrated for their academic and athletic careers in Foggy Bottom. The Revolutionaries made sure to send the seniors out on a high note, dominating the Bonnies, 61-47, en route to the team's 15th win of the season.
Gabby Reynolds paced GW with 12 points, while Sara Lewis added 11 points and nine rebounds. Theodorsson was named GW's Player of the Game, turning in a well-balanced 10 points, nine rebounds and four assists, finishing a team-best +16 on the floor during her 26 minutes of action. The GW Revs dominated the paint, finishing with a 44-24 advantage on the glass, while also using a 25-9 edge in bench points to cruise past the Bonnies.
A-10 STANDINGS UPDATE
Entering the final weekend of the regular season, GW holds the ninth seed in the Atlantic 10 standings with a 7-10 conference record. Wednesday night's win over St. Bonaventure, coupled with Saint Louis' loss to Duquesne, clinched at least the 10 seed in the upcoming Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Championship, earning the Buff & Blue a first-round bye.
With multiple scenarios possible this weekend, GW will either take part in the 8-seed vs. 9-seed matchup on March 5 at 11:00 a.m. or play in the 7-seed vs. 10-seed game later that same day at 5:00 p.m. A full list of the current A-10 standings can be found here.
SCOUTING THE RAMS
Rhode Island enters Saturday's game 24-4 on the season and holding a 15-2 mark in A-10 action, tied atop the conference standings with George Mason. The Rams are coming off their worst loss of the season, a 72-46 defeat at Richmond on Wednesday night. The loss marked the first time Rhode Island failed to score 50 points in a game this season and is the team's second loss in three games, including a 63-59 defeat at La Salle on Feb. 18. URI is led by seventh-year Head Coach Tammi Reiss, who has amassed a 134-72 record with the program. Reiss recently became Rhody's all-time winningest coach and is in the mix to win her first A-10 Coach of the Year award at the conclusion of the regular season.
Rhode Island is led by Brooklyn Gray, who's averaging a team-best 12.5 ppg. Gray averages 5.6 rebounds a night and shoots the ball at 40.8% from the floor. Vanessa Harris adds 10.8 points a night, while Palire Mbu chips in 10.6 ppg and 6.0 rebounds. Albina Syla leads the program in rebounding, grabbing 6.8 a game, while Sophia Vital averages a team-best 3.5 assists. Rhode Island's full 2025-26 season stats can be found here.
