Tennis Continues Fall Campaign at Blue & Gold Invite

WASHINGTON – The George Washington tennis team returns to the court this weekend, taking part in the Navy Blue & Gold Invite in Annapolis, Md. GW is one of eight teams competing, joining Buffalo, Johns Hopkins, UNC-Wilmington, Villanova, Seton Hall, Howard and the host Midshipmen.
GW will see seven players compete in singles action, with representation in all four flights this weekend. Viktoria Sasinka and Madison Lee lead the way in Flight A, while Solange Skeene and Karen Verduzco will take part in Flight B. Alexandra Lindqvist and Devika Manu compete in Flight C, while Laziza Talipova will rep the Buff & Blue in Flight D.
The Revolutionaries will send three doubles teams to the event, with Talipova also pairing with a member of Navy's team in Flight C. The duo of Verduzco/Lee Skeene/Sasinka will compete in Flight A, while Manu/Lindqvist are slotted for Flight B. Through the draw process, Skeene/Sasinka were granted a first-round bye, advancing to face a duo from Buffalo who also received a bye in round one.
