Women’s Soccer Hosts Rhode Island for Pink Match, Travels to Richmond

WASHINGTON – The George Washington women's soccer team returns to action this week with two Atlantic 10 matches. The Buff & Blue welcome Rhode Island to The District on Thursday for the team's annual Pink Match, then travel to Richmond on Sunday for an afternoon bout with the Spiders.
The Revolutionaries (4-7-3 overall, 1-5 A-10) sit six points out of the final Atlantic 10 Championship tournament seed with four matches remaining on the calendar. Following the matches this week, the Buff & Blue conclude the regular season with matchups at Davidson (Oct. 23) and at home against Fordham (Oct. 26) before postseason play begins. The Rams enter the new week coming off a 2-0 home win over Davidson last Sunday, improving the team's record to 10-3-1 overall and 4-1-1 in conference action. Rhode Island's 13 points in conference play are good for third in the conference standings, behind Dayton and Saint Louis, who are both undefeated at 6-0.
