WASHINGTON -Â Following a sterling career in the Buff & Blue, Stella Wiesemann will remain with the GW tennis program as a graduate assistant coach, Head Coach George Rodriguez announced on Monday.Â
"I'm extremely excited to announce Stella as our next Assistant Tennis Coach at GW," Rodriguez said. "Stella already has the respect of the returning players from playing at the one spot for us the last few years. Her playing experience at the higher level will help push our team forward.Â
"Stella has a very upbeat and outgoing personality that will compliment mine to reach new heights as we move forward into a new era of GW tennis. She understands the game, and the challenges along with it, to help guide the returners and our new players coming in. The future is bright and promising with Stella joining the coaching staff!"
A three-time A-10 First Team All-Conference honoree, Wiesemann recently finished her undergrad career at GW with 61 singles victories and 55 doubles triumphs in the last three seasons. The Jena, Germany native graduated from GW last month with a Bachelor's degree in Marketing and was an intern for the GW Athletics marketing department.
"I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to support the team in any way possible and contribute to our success on and off the court," Wiesemann said. "Transitioning from player to assistant coach is an exciting new chapter for me, and I can't wait to give back and work with such talented and hard-working individuals. It will be an amazing journey, and I'm excited for all the challenges and achievements we'll share along the way."
