Golf Posts Lowest Score of the Spring at Irish Creek Collegiate

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. - GW golf returned to the East Coast for a competition for the first time since early March and came away with its best team score of the spring, finishing in a tie for fifth at the Irish Creek Collegiate, hosted by Appalachian State.
The Buff & Blue posted three consistent rounds of 285, 286 and 287 on Monday and Tuesday, posting an 11-over 858 to finish in a tie with the tournament hosts. Jacksonville State won the event with a 3-under 837.
GW's 858 was the lowest score in three spring stroke play events and was on par with the fall success, posting the best number since 9-under 855 at the Monterrey Collegiate Classic in October.
Hugo Riboud led GW with a 1-over 211 after carding a 69 in Tuesday's final round to finish in a tie for 11th overall. Rodrigo Barahona was 1-under following Monday's opening 36 holes and finished with a 2-over 212 following a final round 73 that placed him in a tie for 13th overall.
