WASHINGTON -Â GW baseball will hit the road for its lone mid-week contest this week, taking on Maryland in College Park on Tuesday at 4 p.m. A live stream will be available on Big Ten Network Plus.
LEAGUE LEADERS:Â Entering the final full week of non-conference play, GW has a pair of student-athletes atop the A-10. Michael Kohn continues to pace the circuit with his 10 doubles, ranking sixth nationally in the category. His average of 0.50 doubles per game is also best in the league and 23rd nationally. Eddie Micheletti leads all A-10 players with 31 hits while Steve DiTomaso is not that far behind with 27, ranking fifth.
ABOUT MARYLAND:Â The Terps started the season with a national ranking following a trip to the Regional Final last season, but sit at 11-8 thus far this year following a series win over Albany this weekend. Maryland enters the week with a .288 team batting average and a 5.08 staff ERA, both around the top-100 nationally. Nick Lorusso paces the UMD offense with eight long balls and 31 RBI, both among the top-25 in the NCAA.
SERIES HISTORY:Â GW is 21-36-3 all-time against Maryland, but the two programs have not met since the 2016 season. The Buff & Blue won the last matchup, 19-10, that year in College Park. UMD is scheduled to visit The Tuck later this season on April 18.
