Women’s Tennis Begins Spring Season at James Madison

First serve scheduled for 1 p.m. in Harrisonburg
WASHINGTON – GW women's tennis will begin its championship season on Saturday at James Madison for a 1 p.m. start in Harrisonburg, Va.
Head Coach George Rodriguez leads a team that reached the Atlantic 10 semifinals last season in Orlando, Fla. First-team Atlantic 10 selection Stella Wiesemann returns to the court after leading GW with a 16-4 singles record at the No. 1 spot last spring. The Jena, Germany native, went undefeated at the A-10 Championship, tallying three singles wins and a pair of doubles victories to help her team to its semifinal appearance.
Gabriela Giraldo is expected to make her spring season debut on Saturday after transferring to the GW program last fall from the University of Houston. In addition, GW returns Charlotte Bell, Sarah Bodewes, Lara McNaughten, Alejandra Ramirez and Lindsay Thompson from 2022.
