Women’s Tennis Set for Two Conference Matches

GW hits the road for the first time in A-10 slate
WASHINGTON – After opening its conference schedule with three straight home matches, GW women's tennis will head to Rhode Island and UMass this weekend for a pair of contests. GW will stop at Rhode Island on Saturday for a 1 p.m. first serve and then continue to UMass for an 11 a.m. match on Sunday.
LAST TIME OUT
GW dropped its matches to VCU and Davidson last weekend. Katarina Marinkovikj picked up the lone singles win in the Buff & Blue's 6-1 setback to the Rams. Despite winning the doubles point, the Wildcats outlasted GW in singles play, winning four matches to GW's three to clinch the 4-3 victory on Saturday. Marinkovikj won her singles match vs. Davidson to remain undefeated across the weekend.
READY FOR RHODE ISLAND
The Rams (8-9, 1-1 A-10) own a two-match win streak after two straight 4-0 triumphs over Saint Joseph's and Bryant. Sydney Chratian and Valentina Cvackova lead the squad with 11 and 10 singles victories, respectively. Four of Cvackova's singles wins have come at the No. 1 spot.
SCOUTING UMASS
The Minutewomen are 11-4 overall and 4-0 in conference play. Renata Farima and Danielle Hack lead UMass with 12 singles wins apiece. In doubles play, Farima and Anna Napadiy and Mariya Krasakova and Vitoria Okuyama have six wins each.
