
Gymnastics to Host 2022 EAGL Championship on Podium

GW seeks its first title since 2017
WASHINGTON – George Washington gymnastics will aim for its third East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) conference title when it hosts the 2022 EAGL Championship on Saturday at the Charles E. Smith Center. GW will compete in session two at 6 p.m. with live coverage available on ESPN+.Â
For the second time in GW program history, the meet will be on podium, an elevated competition floor as seen at the NCAA Gymnastics National Championship and in the Olympics.
UPDATED ATTENDANCE POLICYÂ
For indoor events at the Charles E. Smith Center, in compliance with University regulations, all guests ages 5-and-over will need to show their proof of vaccination by one of the following methods:

 * The CLEAR Health Pass app on a mobile device
 * Physical Center for Disease Control (CDC) vaccination card
 * Digital copy of CDC vaccination card

Using the CLEAR Health Pass is not required. Individuals who do not register through the CLEAR Health Pass will need to show a copy of their Centers for Disease Control (CDC) vaccination card and a government-issued photo ID (for those 18 and up). All patrons must also be properly masked while indoors at GW.Â

GW will compete against EAGL foes Towson, North Carolina, NC State, New Hampshire, Temple, Pitt and LIU. The Buff & Blue will seek their third EAGL title and eighth title overall. GW won the Atlantic 10 Championship for five-straight seasons from 1998 to 2001 under the direction of Margie Foster-Cunningham.
FINISHING ON A HIGH NOTE
In its final meet of the regular season, GW posted season-high scores on vault and beam to earn its second-highest score of the season at Maryland on Sunday. GW earned a 49.325 on both vault and beam to boast a 196.325 in its second-place finish at the quad meet. This week, Deja Chambliss and Kendall Whitman earned the conference's final pair of weekly awards.
EAGL RECAPÂ
GW finished the season fourth overall in EAGL with a 195.925 NQS. The Buff & Blue are second in the league on vault with a 49.080 NQS. Deja Chambliss leads the league on vault with a 9.895 NQS. GW is fourth overall on floor with a 49.115 NQS, with Chambliss and Kendall Whitman owning the top two spots, respectively, among all EAGL gymnasts. Six GW gymnasts were named to All-EAGL Teams, with Chambliss picking up three first-team nods on vault, floor and in the all-around.
