Hilary Steele and GW Gymnastics Welcome Don Houlton as Assistant Coach

GW gymnastics Head Coach Hilary Steele announced today that Don Houlton will serve as the lead assistant coach of the program, as the team has begun training under Steele in her first year at GW.
Houlton comes to Foggy Bottom after a four-year stint at Western Michigan, where he also served as an assistant coach. Last season, WMU saw junior Reese Samuelson selected to compete at the NCAA Regional Championship on bars.
Prior to his time with the Broncos, he spent three seasons at Central Michigan, where he helped produce several All-MAC athletes, a conference champion, Gymnast of the Year and an NCAA qualifier.
Houlton's time in college gymnastics also included tenures as an assistant coach at Yale, California and Arkansas, while his experience at the youth ranks include program ownership, head coaching and directing.
A veteran of several administrative capacities with USA Gymnastics with numerous certifications from the organization, Houlton boasts 11 years spent on the National Junior Olympic program committee and as the organization's Region 4 training camp coordinator.
A degree holder from Nebraska-Omaha, he is Hilary Steele's first hire at GW.
