GW gymnastics has placed two of its standout gymnasts, senior Deana Sheremeta and Lola Montevago, on the list of NCAA Regional qualifiers as announced by the NCAA on Monday's gymnastics selection show. Per NCAA guidelines, the top 12 all-around competitors and top 16 event specialists based on national qualifying scores are placed in one of four regional sites as individual competitors.
The pair of Revolutionaries will compete at the Tempe Regional on the campus of Arizona State on Thursday, April 2, where Sheremeta will compete on floor and Montevago will make a showing on uneven bars. Both gymnasts make their second-consecutive NCAA Regional appearance after they competed at last year's Penn State regional as individual qualifiers.Â
Sheremeta led the EAGL on floor in 2026 as an All-EAGL First Team selection, earning a 9.885 NQS on floor. She posted a season-best 9.925 in January and capped off her senior regular season as the EAGL's Senior Gymnast of the Year.Â
Montevago punches her ticket to compete amongst the NCAA's best with a 9.855 NQS on bars, ranking second in the EAGL, and was the individual bars co-champion at Saturday's EAGL meet with a season-high 9.925. She was an All-EAGL First Team honoree on the event.
