Chambliss honored for fourth time this season
STEUBENVILLE, Ohio – Following an impressive showing in their final pair of regular-season meets, Deja Chambliss and Kendall Whitman of GW gymnastics have claimed the final East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Weekly Awards. Chambliss was named Gymnast of the Week for the fourth time this season, while Whitman was selected as Specialist of the Week for her first honor this year.
Chambliss matched her career-high on floor for the second time this season at Maryland with a 9.925. On Monday, Chambliss was selected to three All-EAGL First Team's for her conference-leading 9.895 NQS on vault and 9.905 NQS on floor. At Towson, Whitman posted her fourth 9.900+ on floor this season to lead GW, and finish second overall. Whitman was named to the All-EAGL Second Team on vault with a 9.805 NQS. The Pottstown, Pa., native also picked up First Team honors on floor with a 9.890 NQS, good enough for second in the league behind Chambliss.Â
