
Gymnastics Lands Six on All-EAGL Teams

Chambliss earns three first-team nods
STEUBENVILLE, Ohio -Â Six George Washington gymnasts were selected to All-East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Teams, the league announced on Monday.Â
Graduate student and co-captain Deja Chambliss was All-EAGL First Team on vault (9.895 NQS), floor (9.905 NQS) and in the all-around (39.240 NQS). Chambliss leads the league on vault and floor.
First-year Rachel Katz also earned first-team recognition on vault with her 9.820 NQS. Kendall Whitman was named to the All-EAGL Second Team on vault with a 9.805 NQS. It's the second-straight year that Whitman has earned the honor. Whitman also picked up First Team honors on floor with a 9.890 NQS. Whitman is second in the league on floor.
First-year Sarah Zois earned her first EAGL Team nod, picking up Second Team honors on vault with a 9.815 NQS.
Senior Simone Banen was selected to the All-EAGL Second Team on bars for the third time in her career. Banen registered a 9.825 NQS to earn the honor.
Senior co-captain Olivia Zona was named to the Second Team on floor with a 9.830 NQS. It's the first All-EAGL team honor for Zona.
First Team All-EAGL on each event and in the all-around includes the top eight ranked gymnasts (including ties) from the 10-week regular season. Second Team All-EAGL includes gymnasts ranked No. 9 to No. 16.
Major EAGL award winners will be announced at this weekend's EAGL Championship at the Charles E. Smith Center.Â
